Alternative Education

The alternative education teachers at Ashland High School believe that every child in our classrooms is inherently valuable regardless of past (or future) success.

As such, we seek to:

  1. Develop a personalized education plan with academic excellence as the centerpiece

  2. Build upon basic skills while increasing the relevance of the curriculum - making connections between academic concepts and real, human experience

  3. Encourage discussion and questions - enhancing critical thinking skills

  4. Build community

  5. Require accountability from every student within our classrooms.
