AHS wants to take a moment to celebrate some of our AHS students who attended Southern Oregon’s Law Day, hosted by the Civics Learning Project. Our students participated in three sessions on law, equity, and democracy. A special moment unfolded at the end of the day. Due to early departures, only two of our AHS students, Amara Lowe and Cora Turner, remained at the event. The final guest speaker? Our very own Senator Jeff Golden! Despite being the last students there, Senator Golden engaged with Amara and Cora for over 45 minutes. They had a round-table discussion on politics, personal experiences, and the future. He remarked, “Those who need to be here, are here.” It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Amara and Cora will never forget. Be on the lookout for the full story on the local Ashland news!

"Four male track athletes from Ashland High School stand on a podium in first place, each holding medals. They wear red jerseys with 'Ashland' printed on them. The podium is positioned on a track field, with a red tent labeled 'Ashland Grizzlies' in the background. Other athletes and spectators can be seen in the distance, with the grandstand reading 'Southern Oregon' visible."
Last week, our boys and girls tennis teams battled at the Midwestern League Championships. Our girls team were crowned League champions for the second year in a row! Congratulations to Veronica Miller and Claudia Stadtmueller who finished in 1st and 2nd at the meet. Congratulations also goes to our doubles team, Jane Cruce and Alice Pearson-Albano. They were crowned champions! Congratulations also goes out to our head coach, Martin Stadtmueller, who was awarded the Coach of the Year Award. Well done, Coach! All four girls will be competing next weekend at the State Tournament. Good luck to you all! The boys team battled ferociously at the district meet as well. The team was just four points shy of being league champions. Congratulations goes out to Gavin Connegy-Chang who made it to the semifinals and almost made it to the finals after a close, grueling match. Well done, Connor. Good luck at the State Tournament.

A tennis coach wearing a red shirt and sunglasses stands between two young female tennis players. They are standing in front of a chain-link fence on a tennis court. The player on the left wears a white cap, white tank top, and black shorts, with a medal around her neck. The player on the right, with her hair tied back, wears a white tank top and pink shorts, also with a medal. The coach holds a wooden plaque with gold lettering and a trophy.
