Hannah

Hannah Kolni is in her 2nd year as the Science and Social Studies teacher on the 6th grade Siskiyou team here at AMS, but she has taught in the Rogue Valley since 2013. Originally from Texas, Hannah moved to Oregon in 2011 to take part in the Masters of Environmental Ed program at SOU. She chose SOU because she wanted to be on the West Coast and close to big trees and surrounded by nature. Living up on the Greensprings now, she says she “has found her home. AMS and Ashland are a really good fit for me. The kids are awesome and I really appreciate the staff culture and the leadership of our administrative team here.”

Along with her husband, Seth, Hannah has two rescue dogs, Nova and Fawkes, who love to wrestle and play in the snow. Additionally, she loves Amigurumi (the Japanese art of crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures) and Shinrin-yoku. Hannah has travelled extensively throughout the world—Southeast Asia, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia—and we’re so happy she found her way to Ashland and AMS.
