Helman Elementary teachers and students experience learning while developing a "Sense of Place" at their neighborhood pond; through partnerships with local environmental educators, students learn about plants, animals, ecosystems, and the interdependence of natural elements, while experiencing the interdependence of their own local community. Helman School receives financial support from the Ashland Schools Foundation and partners with the Klamath Bird Observatory, the Bear Creek Watershed Council, Lomakatsi Restoration Project and the Ashland Parks Department.
