Congratulations to our winter student-athletes for their outstanding accomplishments during the 2022-23 season. We are proud of each and every one of you for your commitment and dedication! Here is a list of this winter’s award-winning student-athletes: Boys Basketball: Izzy Golden: MWL Co-Player of the Year Eyera Nogues: MWL 1st Team Silas Wright: MWL 2nd Team Girls Basketball: Mary Montgomery: MWL Honorable Mention Boys Ski: Bjorn Austbo: 17th in State for Slalom, 8th in State for Giant Slalom. Finished in 11th place overall. Bjorn qualified to compete in Western Regionals Boys and Girls Snowboard: The following student-athletes are competing at their State meet this weekend- Charlie Sherman Alder Sheppard Marcel Ruby Quin Carroll Rogue Kirkwood Roman Albertelli Cohen Dunbrasky Decklan Stewart Ebin King Wilson Wildman Rowan Alig Bodhi Wier Zahara Pama-Brown Aurora Graham Boys Swim: Jence Berry, Aiden Espinoza, Logan Barber, and Fugui Slawta: 5th place State finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay Wrestling: Will Downs: 6th place at State in the 170 pound weight division Jack Bauer: 5th place at State in the heavyweight division. The weight limit is 285 pounds, and Jack was under the limit by 50 pounds! Congratulations to everyone once again on a wonderful winter season! It’s a great day to be a grizzly!

Softball Game Postponed: Today's softball game against South Medford has been postponed due to poor field conditions. We will look to reschedule at a later date.

All After-School Acitivities Canceled: Due to the weather, all after-school activities have been canceled for the remainder of the day.

Spring Sports Parent Night has been rescheduled for Monday, March 13. Meeting will begin at 6:30 in the main gym.

Golf Practice: Practice will be held this week on Thursday and Friday at Oak Knoll Golf Course, from 4:00-5:30. Starting next week, practices will be held Wednesdays through Fridays at Oak Knoll, from 4:00-5:30.

Golf Update: We have a coach! Please meet at Oak Knoll Golf Course on Monday at 4:00 for our first practice!

Spring Sports Begins Monday! Please see current meeting locations and times for practices: Track & Field- Lower gym/weight room, 4:00 Baseball-AHS turf. If inclement weather, North Mountain Park, 4:00 Softball-North Mountain Park, 4:00 Tennis-March 1st, lower gym classroom. No practice Monday or Tuesday. Golf-Lower gym classroom, 3:45 It's a great day to be a Grizzly!

Update: Basketball has been rescheduled. Girls will play at Churchill on Monday. JV at 5:00, and V at 6:30. The boys will host Churchill on Monday. JV2 at 4:00, JV at 5:30, and V at 7:00. All three games will be played in the main gym. We will honor our seniors in between the JV and V games.

Basketball Games Postponed: Games against Churchill have been postponed for both the girls and boys teams. We are currently working to develop a revised schedule and will provide an update as soon as possible.

2023 WRESTLING STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS SCHEDULE *Updated*

Spring Sports Parent Night-February 28, 6:30-7:30: Please Join us to learn more about spring sports. This will be an opportunity to meet the coaches and hear about the upcoming season. Meeting will begin at 6:30 in the main gym.

Schools will be on a delayed start today due to hazardous weather. All schools will start 2 hours after their normal start time. Bus routes will pick up two hours later than normal. For your child’s safety, please check www.ashland.k12.or.us before leaving to make sure conditions still permit a delay instead of a closure.

JV2 Girls Basketball: The game has been canceled against Phoenix today, Feb 13.

Grizzly Athletes in the News and in the Game Izzy Golden was selected by the OSAA as the Player of the Week for his incredible game play! Read the article below. Grizzly varsity boys basketball team beat Churchill last Friday, in Churchill! This is the first Conference home win over Churchill in five years! Boys are currently third in our league, and ranked 14 in the state. The Grizzly wrestling team has been making positive strides all season. The team finished third at the Rumble on the Rogue, with only twelve wrestlers competing. This past weekend, they competed in the Rogue Valley Championship at North Medford High School. We missed finishing in the top three by three points! The wrestling team will have their Senior Night this Wednesday. We have a three-team dual against Phoenix and Eagle Point. JV matches will start at 5:45, followed by Varsity matches around 7:00. We host St. Mary’s tonight in girls basketball. JV will play at 5:30, followed by Varsity at 7:00.
