Competing against runners from 31 high schools from around Northern California and Southern Oregon, the Ashland Varsity Boys team placed 3rd overall in last Friday's Bill Springhorn Classic in Redding, CA. The Grizzlies were led by Bjorn Austbo, Liam Starr, Zeb LaCoste, Wessam Fathalla, Oliver Bonk, and Owen Taylor. Bjorn finished 9th and Liam 11th in a race of over 130 runners and earned medals for their efforts. The JV boys team had similar success placing 2nd as a team in their race. Led by 9th grader Diego Urrutia (3rd overall) and 10th grader Dakota Anderson-Casquiera (10th overall), other team members were Emmett Sible, Griffin McCollom, Kai Hendrix, and Wren Bywater. On the girls side, 9th grader Natalie Kupka finished 2nd and 11th grader Mackenzie Schmidt was 6th in the Varsity Girls race of almost 80 runners, while 9th grader Lyla Rose finished 6th overall in the JV Girls race. All three earned medals for their efforts.
In addition to parents and teammates, AHS runners were cheered on by Scott Studebaker, a member of the 1971 AHS XC State Championship squad coached by Bob Julian, Sr.

BASKETBALL GAMES STREAMING LIVE!
I have some exciting news to share on behalf of our athletic program. Together with Hudl, we plan to offer a livestream of every home varsity game played in the gym.
If you can attend our games, we encourage you to do so. We want to give people who can’t physically attend our games the ability to tune in and support Grizzly athletics. With our livestream, working parents, faraway family members, alumni, and anyone else who wants to watch can support our athletes.
We will be selling pay-per-view passes on an annual, monthly, and single-game basis. A single-game pass will be $8, a monthly pass will be $15, and a yearly pass will be $75. These prices are intended to be similar to the costs of attending the game.
You can access our broadcast by going to fan.hudl.com, and search Ashland Grizzlies.
