ENROLLING IN THE GRIZZLY ONLINE ACADEMY

Enrollment in the Grizzly Online Academy (GOA) Program occurs at the beginning of each term and requires a one semester commitment. Students may switch back to in person or modify their enrollment status at the end of each term. A school representative (usually the student’s school counselor) will talk about the program details with students and families so students, staff and parents/guardians are able to make an informed decision.

Each student will also be evaluated to be sure that the GOA Program is a good fit for them academically and social/emotionally. We want to be sure that all students who are enrolled into the program achieve success. We base success not only on passing grades and earned credits but also by the student’s emotional and social wellbeing.

THE GOA ENROLLMENT PROCESS

If you are interested in enrolling in the Grizzly Online Academy (GOA) please reach out to your school counselor before the start of a new term to discuss whether the online program is a good fit for you.

The school counselors by alphabetical order:

If it is determined that the online program is an appropriate learning platform, the school counselor will refer the student and family to the Grizzly Online Academy Program Lead. At this time, the GOA Program Lead will reach out to the student/family to set up a time to meet to discuss the program, review the GOA Contract, answer frequently asked questions and review elective options. Students will not be officially switched to the GOA program until students and families meet with the GOA Program Lead, signed the GOA Contract and have a complete online schedule.

Once the initial meeting has taken place and the student has their online schedule, the GOA Program Lead will notify counseling, the student and the parent/guardian. Once the counselor receives this notification, they will make the official schedule change in Power School and the student may begin working in their online classes.
