AHS Theatre Actors Honored at Regionals with 24 Awards!

AHS Theatre Will Showcase their Fall Play at the Thespian State Festival; AHS Actors win 24 Awards at Regional Acting Competition

AHS’ fall play, Radium Girls, was chosen out of 18 Oregon full-length play entries. A committee of 8 evaluated the productions. The fall drama will be the opening night show at the state conference at the Elsinore Theatre in Salem on March 31.

Senior Ceili Widmann’s original one-act play “VIOLENCE” won the State Finalist Award in Playwriting. She will present her timely play at the 4-day state festival in Salem.

28 AHS actors competed with 400 thespians on Saturday, February 6, at Central HS in Independence, Oregon. The following students scored in the top 10% of their category. They will compete on the state level at the end of next month. These state finalists are also qualify for internationals.

Regional Ribbons   These students scored in the top 15% of their categories. They won a regional ribbon. (some missed the state qualifying score by 1 point! Many also qualified for internationals with a superior in various scored areas.
