Help John Muir School with the Grocery Cash Back Program!
Help John Muir Reach Our 2017-18 Grocery Cash Back Goal! It’s easy and it doesn’t cost you anything except the actual cost of your groceries! Grocery Cash Back (aka Scrip) is a program where Ashland Food Coop and Shop N Kart give 5% of sales back to John Muir. This helps funds some of the things that make John Muir so special – the outdoor and art programs—and represents about 17% of the yearly Parent-Teacher Collective (PTC) budget.
Help us reach our goal! The Parent-Teacher Collective (PTC) aims to bring in $4000 from Grocery Cash Back this year and we are only about a quarter of the way there. If 75 families bought $800 worth of grocery cards (just a month or two of groceries for many of us), we’d reach that goal.
How does it work? When you see a person standing at a small table in front of the school (most days of the week, before and after school), you can use cash, check, or credit card to buy grocery cards. Then pay for your groceries with these cards when you shop. If you buy the grocery cards using cash or check, 5% goes back to the school, and if you use a credit card, 2.5% goes back.
No one standing out front? Feel free to ask one of the parents who currently sell—Melissa Malm, Pam Kuhn, Scott Bandoroff, Jennie Christopherson, Maureen Frieder, Ramana Waymire, or Heather Escobar—and we can likely help you out.
Got 20 minutes before or after school? We could use another volunteer or two to make sure we’re covering all the days before and after school. Currently, Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning are open. Contact email@example.com or any of the other scrip sellers to get signed up and trained (it’s easy!).
