How to register for RETURNING STUDENTS: 

The Ashland School District is excited to announce an online student registration/data validation system for the upcoming school year, powered by InfoSnap. The system is a secure and green process, which allows the district to verify all student demographic, emergency and medical information for your child prior to the start of the new school year. The system will also allow you to electronically sign the annual permission forms for school district policies. This online process replaces the hard copy student registration and permission forms you typically complete over the summer.

We would appreciate all families taking action and completing these forms as soon as possible after receiving the letter/email. Your studentís registration will not be complete until you successfully submit the forms. If you do not have access to the Internet, you can use the school kiosk during one of the school registration drop in times. If you have any further questions, please contact the school office.


Families who are unable to complete the online registration process, may drop in during one of the registration days:
August 9     8:00am - 4:00pm
August 10   8:00am - 4:00pm

Families who have moved over the summer will need to provide verify Ashland residence. Please be prepared with two original documents, one from each group:
(Document Type 1) A real estate / rental document such as a lease, property tax bill, or mortgage statement.
(Document Type 2) A bank statement, credit card bill, pay stub, social security paperwork, insurance document, or a utility bill with your name and address listed. We are unable to accept telephone bills or driver's licenses.

                
How to register for KINDERGARTEN & NEW STUDENTS:
  • To register for Kindergarten, students must by 5 by September 1, 2017

  • Deposit money for lunch account - Please pay separate from the school fee above, Cash or check made out to Helman School
All students entering kindergarten OR who are new to the district at any grade level OR families who changed address within the last year must provide proof of residency during the registration process.

Please be prepared with two original documents, one from each group:

Daily School Schedule:
8:00    Students arrive at school
8:20    Classes begin and all students are in their seats
1:30    Wednesday dismissal 
2:50    Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday dismissal
          
Kindergarten School Start Schedule:
August 28 - September 1 : Student visit classrooms (scheduled visits)
September 5th - 8th : 1st week of school (8:20am - 12:30pm)
September 11th : Begin full days (Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri 8:20am - 2:50pm & Wed 8:20am - 1:30pm)

Bus Routes:
At Transportation weíve spent the summer making some necessary updates and changes to your bus routes to make them more efficient and more rider-friendly.  For more information regarding routes and the specific stop times, CLICK HERE.
       
Zone Transfers:
You may request a 'Zone Transfer' for your child to attend a school outside of your neighborhood.
Complete the Zone Transfer Request Form and return it to District Student Services at 885 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland, OR  97520. You can view the ASD Attendance Zone map to identify your neighborhood school by using the zoom tool, which looks like a magnifying glass, to find your street.

If you are applying for the start of a new school year, please submit your request no later than the first week of August.  Determinations will be made after registration at all three elementary schools has been complete in the third week of-August. If you are applying after the school year has started for the current school year, complete the Zone Transfer Request Form below and return it to Student Service at the above address.  You will receive a decision generally within two weeks. Decisions will be made based on available space and balance of class size across sites.  The Director of Student Services may consider hardship among other factors.  The Directorís decision is final and does not carry right of appeal.
