Inclement Weather/Emergency Announcement
School Closures and Late Start information

Please get information via public announcements on radio, TV, and the internet about school closures or delays. These announcements are generally made after 6:00 A.M.

Please do not call the school district transportation department, the school district administration building, individual schools, or radio stations for information. Answering these calls will reduce our ability to take other necessary action in responding to a weather crisis. All families are encouraged to have a plan in the event school must close before the regular dismissal time.

In case of bad weather, you can expect to hear one or several possible announcements. If there are no radio, TV, or internet announcements about changes, it means we will be operating with regular procedures.

When schools are closed for the day, we will monitor the weather and review all community and school activities held in the public school buildings to determine if they can be held or will be canceled. This includes all scheduled athletic events at home and away.

Is there school today?
This information will be posted on the home page immediately upon determination.

Will there be school tomorrow? Please watch our website or listen to the radio or the following tv stations to hear about closures. Radio and tv stations are notified as soon as the decision is made to delay start or cancel school.

Television stations: KDRV–CH 12, KOBI–CH 5, KTVL–CH 10.

There will be times when a delayed start will allow road conditions to clear up.  This information will be included in any public announcements as well as each homepage and our emergency announcement page on our district web site.

We now have a new alert system in place, called School Reach. It allows parents and students to subscribe to alerts to be delivered to a multitude of devices.  We are able to send email, text messages and voice messages to you instantly. The district uses the contact information gathered at back to school registration.
