A NOTE ABOUT AVAILABLE SPACE...

What if there are no openings at my childís grade level?
The Ashland School Board sets openings based on available space.  If there is no opening at your childís grade level for 18-19, do not complete the application.

During the third week of August, principalís meet to review enrollments.  If there are fewer enrollments than anticipated, the district considers traditional inter-district transfers.  To get a traditional inter-district transfer, the first step is to be released by your resident district.  Contact your resident district for the appropriate form.  If released, you may submit the form signed by your resident district to Ashland Student Services at 885 Siskiyou Blvd. prior to the August enrollment review meeting.

What if there are TOO MANY applicants for available spaces?
If we receive more applicants at a grade-level than we have available openings, then students will be selected by lottery starting with kindergarten and moving up.

If there is more than one student in the family and one student is selected, then siblings will also be accepted based on available space at their grade level.

What if there are NOT ENOUGH applicants?
The district plans openings based on available facility space and staff resources.  In some cases, we base openings in anticipation of hiring additional staff.  If we do not receive enough applicants to support any needed additional staffing, the district will adjust the number of openings and inform affected families by May 1.
