Early College Credit
You can begin your college education in high school and graduate with an RCC and/or SOU college transcript. We recommend students register for Southern Oregon University ($41 per credit) or Rogue Community College (FREE) credits when they take any of the early college credit-eligible classes available at AHS (see full list in the AHS Course Guide available online).
All Oregon public universities and community colleges will accept SOU and RCC credit equally. If you are planning to apply to private and out of state schools, it is important to check with each school on its policy regarding college credit earned in high school, as policies vary widely. If schools award credit, it may be in the subject area or as elective credit. Many private colleges will only award college credit for an AP class if the student achieves a certain score on the AP exam. We recommend AP students register for college credit in addition to taking AP exams. If you have additional questions, please contact a counselor or the teacher of an approved Early College Credit course.
