VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Helman Hoedown

Howdy friends and welcome to a great year at Helman!  We're checking in to see if any of you are keen to take on a job at the Hoedown - our annual, free, community dinner - which is Thursday, Sept. 28th.  The event runs from 5:00-7:00, but there is prep beforehand and clean up afterward, too.

Here are a few jobs that need doin'...
  • popcorn maker/dispenser (we have an old-timey popcorn maker on wheels, so it's just running the cart and dishing it out)   **three 30-minute slots beginning at 5:30pm
  • a community dinner means food, and we'll need a total of eight grill masters to work the grill (2 shifts of four)
  • food prep in the kitchen from 4:00-5:00pm   *** we need four people this is washin' lettuce, separatin' cheese slices, etc.
  • we reckon we could use three more people to help set up, arranging tables and decoratin' the space, from 2:30-4:00pm
  • good at mixin' lemonade?  you could take a time slot as manager of the drink station ***four 30-minute slots beginning at 4:45pm
  • you can't have a Hoedown without making a mess, so we'll need a team of five to help us clean up.
The Hoedown is brought to you by the good folks at the Helman PTA. We're pleased as punch to have such a great community of parents and teachers here at Helman and I'd like to say thankee to y'all for being such a fun lovin' bunch!!!

Email avrilstpierre@yahoo.com if you're willin' to lend a hand.  Thanks, neighbors, for volunteerin'!
From your Hoedown coordinators,
Avril Betoushana and Joe Shannon
Don't forget to sign up for the Helman Hoedown Cakewalk! We are still in need of bakers and volunteers for the event!!
