Dear Willow Wind Families, Here is the Fall 2017 Course Catalog. There are many exciting new classes. We are sending registration materials via e-mail, but you are welcome to pick up a printed packet in the office if that would work better for your family. This schedule was created by a group of volunteers and we tried to take into consideration many of your requests and individual family needs. Hopefully, you will be pleased with the outcome.
The deadline for registration requests is Monday, June 5, 2017. The course Registration Forms must be in the office on that date (not in the mail). You must return your Family Service Form with your course requests. We are suggesting you deliver the forms to the office, rather than mail them, as we cannot be responsible for delivery times. The Willow Wind office will be open 8:00 4:30 each weekday during the registration period. If you need additional forms, please feel free to make copies or come by and pick some up.
The required classes for Parent Partner students are listed by grade level on the first few pages of the catalog. Some of the classes are only required for some students (Math Lab, Reading Room and Writing Lab) If you have questions about any of these requirements, please communicate with your Parent Partner consultant. You will receive a grade level specific template that shows required classes in a separate e-mail. Hopefully, this will make your planning easier.
Parent Partner students have priority for enrollment in the required classes, but homeschooling students may request these classes by listing them on their registration sheet. If there is room in the class, we will happily enroll your child in the required class. Do not use your priority numbers for classes on the required list.
Required classes do not need to be prioritized. For all other classes, please remember to set a different priority (1-10) for each class. Use the #1 to indicate your first choice the class that is most important to your student. On June 5th we will begin assigning classes based on the requests we receive. It is VERY important to include alternate choices for all classes. If Parent Partner families do not include alternatives, your child may be assigned to a class that has room to avoid a gap in your schedule.
When there are too many requests for a certain class, we look at the priority the family has assigned to that class. If there is still a dilemma, we will use a lottery system. Please feel free to come in and ask questions, or get help with your scheduling dilemmas. If you are new to Willow Wind and need further clarification or help with the process, please contact me I am happy to help.
We hope to be mailing confirmationsby June 30th. We will have a Welcome Back Day on Monday, Aug. 28 and regular classes will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 29th. Kindergarten students will begin classes the following week first day for them is September 5. I hope to see you all at the Passport to Learning Celebration on June 1 at Willow Wind.
