December Grizz-O-Gram Now Available

Dear AHS Families,
What a week itís been. Monday began with a moment of silence honoring victims in Newtown, Connecticut. Though AHS never received any security threats, to reduce anxiety about school security, an officer from the Ashland Police Department was on-campus every day. Tuesday brought a snowstorm and closed school for the day. On Wednesday we held a lockdown drill. Thursday, amidst snow flurries, we celebrated as a community with an all-school holiday assembly. Today, it was a typical red day and we bid students and staff a fond farewell for the two-week vacation. I appreciate the phone calls and emails from families inquiring about school security. Ashland High School continues to be a wonderful place to work and learn. We take the safety of our students and staff very seriously.
Please make the time to read the December Grizz-O-Gram, now available to download here. It includes information about Senior All Night, the final exam schedule, a student trip to London, financial aid for college, and other school events.
I hope that your family enjoys a joyous holiday season. Classes resume on Monday, January 7 (a white day).
All the Best,
Michelle Zundel
First Parent Planning Meeting for Senior All Night
Wednesday, January 9 @ 7:00 PM
AHS IVC Center
Each year, the senior classís parents organize an all-night event following graduation. This event provides a safe venue for our graduates to celebrate their success and have one final moment with their entire class. There are LOTS of ways to get involved and we can use the assistance of every senior family. It is an enormous undertaking to throw a part for 200+ graduates, but many hands make light work! Please come to this meeting to give your input, join a committee, and help complete a small part of this big puzzle!
